PenAir Employees Expand Impact of Jeans for Communerosity® Program

Pensacola, FLA. (January 31, 2022) – PenAir Federal Credit Union (PenAir) employees expand the impact of the Jeans for Communerosity® (J4C) program by gifting $50,000 in donations among 12 local nonprofits. Beyond the financial contribution, PenAir’s 332 employees pledge to serve these organizations through volunteer opportunities supporting their missions.

“We are thrilled to announce the growth of our Jeans for Communerosity® program” says Stacie Dice, Digital Marketing Strategist for PenAir Federal Credit Union and Communerosity Committee Co-chair. “Thanks to the unwavering spirit, hardworking character and confidence of our employees, we were able to raise the program’s impact from 10 to 12 charities. Of the $50,000 to be donated, $25,000 comes directly from the pockets of our employees.”

PenAir’s Jeans for Communerosity® (J4C) program is an employee-driven fundraising effort, born from the dedication and passion for enhancing the lives of those in the communities where we live, work and serve. Each year, employees nominate and vote for like-minded local nonprofit organizations located in our service area to champion over the course of a given year. Funds are raised through payroll deductions, J4C days, and J4C t-shirt sales, then matched by the credit union.

“Communerosity® is a core value that PenAir employees live, every day,” says Jamie Randle, Senior Financial Analyst and Communerosity Co-chair. The J4C program was created as a way for the company to collectively serve our communities, which includes the gift of time. In that spirit, each PenAir employee receives 5 hours of paid time per month to volunteer during working hours with the organization of their choice. “The Communerosity Committee has challenged our team mates to volunteer 8,760 hours as a company, in 2022. We truly want PenAir to be everywhere. The total hours break down to 27 hours per employee per year or 30 minutes per employee per week. Our goal is to have a PenAir volunteer for the equivalent of 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.”
