PenAir Employees Wrap-Up Holiday Giving Campaigns by Donating $15,000 to Community Nonprofits and Programs

Pensacola, Fla. (December 30, 2021) – PenAir Federal Credit Union (PenAir) concluded the holiday season with two employee-giving campaigns: Random Acts of Communerosity® and “Give-A-Click”. The initiatives distributed a total of $15,000 to area nonprofits and programs, wrapping-up PenAir’s 2021 giving.

PenAir’s annual “Give-A-Click” Holiday Wreath Competition raises awareness for local nonprofits. Teams comprised of PenAir employees represent a local charity of their choosing by decorating holiday wreathes and competing for “clicks”. Promoted entirely through social media, the community is invited to “Give-A-Click” by casting daily votes for their favorite charity or carefully crafted wreath. This year’s competition ensured that every organization received a donation, providing $8,500 across 11 deserving nonprofits.

“’Give-A-Click’ is yet another example of PenAir employees enhancing the lives of our community,” says Sydney Allen, Digital and Social Media Specialist for PenAir Federal Credit Union. “We had teams representing full departments and some made of two individuals. I think this really showcases the impact each of us can have on your community. It’s because our team members’ participation and craftiness, that we get to host these connective campaigns and make impactful contributions in our communities.”

PenAir employees were able to provide $6,500 to various community programs through the Random Acts of Communerosity® (RAC) program. RAC, is a segment of PenAir’s employee-driven fundraising effort Jeans for Communerosity (J4C).  Funds are raised through payroll deductions, J4C days, and J4C t-shirt sales, then matched by PenAir and dispersed throughout the community by means of RAC, J4C and annual ‘I Wear Because I Care’ campaigns.

“These donations are in conjunction with the $50,000 that we gave back through our annual Jeans for Communerosity check presentations,” says Stacie Dice, Digital Marketing Strategist for PenAir Federal Credit Union and Communerosity Committee Co-chair. “Our employees also gave $3,000 during our ‘I Wear Because I Care’ campaign and $1,240 to the Children’s Miracle Network. That’s almost $61,000 in funds that we were able to put back into the community, thanks to the contributions from fellow PenAir team members.” If you would like to learn more about PenAir’s employee funded Jeans for Communerosity program, please visit our website at penair.org/Communerosity.
