PenAir Kicks-off 2022 Financial Challenge – NOW

June 29, 2022

Pensacola, Florida – (June 29, 2022) PenAir Federal Credit Union (PenAir FCU) has selected its three teams to participate in the 2022 NOW Program. Follow along as John and Veronica, Crystal, and Jack navigate the seven-month journey, designed to guide contestants to the financial freedom they’ve been dreaming of while they compete for the chance to win $5,000.

“We are entering our third year of the NOW program,” says Casey Brueske, Community Education Development Specialist for PenAir FCU. NOW Teams are paired with a certified PenAir Financial Counselor, who will work directly with them to create an individualized financial plan to help them pay off their debt and set them up for a financially secure future. “Our goal is to guide these teams to be more financially fit and enhance their lives and the lives of others in the process,” says Brueske.

NOW Teams will document their journey via social media, video and blogs each month to inspire the community. Points will be awarded to each family for percent increase in savings, percent decrease in debt, submitting blog and video content, attending PenAir financial workshops, volunteering in the community, and meeting with their NOW Advisor. At the completion of seven months, the NOW Team that earns the most points during the contest will be awarded $5,000.

2021 winners, Wesley and Tammy went from feeling like they would never be able to save for retirement to building a plan for their families’ future. “Our main goal was to focus on savings, especially on retirement. We had to look at our spending habits and make a lot of changes. In the end, we have created a great plan that will put us on track for success.” On average, the 2021 NOW Teams increased their savings by $14,000 and decreased their debt by $8,000.
