NOW 2022 – Jack: Don’t Pay Yourself First
It's a hard realization to have, that you've been functioning poorly financially. Follow along as we learn to change our mindset to pay bills and savings first.

As we settle into the routine of recognizing and categorizing expenditures, our needs and wants are becoming clearer. I’d be lying if I did not admit that this has turned out to be much more difficult than expected.
I had the pleasure of meeting with Amber again and I nearly have a grasp on the strategy she is presenting. While inventorying the balances of current debts is overwhelming it is also proving essential to adjust to a debt reduction mindset. I am Enthusiastic about focusing on overall financial health and having the motivation to gain a spending regimen.
The biggest challenge we face, is treating bills and savings as the spending priority. On reflection, that is not the way I have functioned in quite some time. It is a significant change in the pattern of budgeting our money. For a long time, I personally have paid myself first (as in frivolous spending) before I addressed responsible debts. I stated in my initial interview, it is incumbent on me to take these tools and improve my discipline dramatically. The future with Laura will only gain to benefit from the lifestyle adjustment we make, NOW. Truly an exciting adventure now and ahead.
