PenAir Credit Union and Fort McClellan Credit Union have announced plans to merge, subject to regulatory approval and a vote of eligible Fort McClellan Credit Union members.

This partnership brings together two member-focused credit unions with a shared commitment to helping people improve their financial well-being, strengthening communities, and delivering the personal service members deserve.

For PenAir members, there is nothing you need to do.

For Fort McClellan Credit Union members, we’re excited for you to learn more about PenAir, who we are, and what this opportunity means for the future.

A Message to Our Members

At PenAir, every decision begins with our members.

We’ve spent 90 years helping people achieve financial success, supporting the communities we serve, and building relationships that last for generations.

We believe this proposed merger creates new opportunities for members, employees, and communities while preserving the local service and personal relationships that both organizations value.

This announcement also comes at a time when many of our members and communities are still recovering from the recent storm. While we look ahead with optimism, we haven’t lost sight of what’s needed today. PenAir will continue showing up for our members, supporting recovery efforts, and helping our communities move forward.

Our commitment to members and the communities we serve remains unchanged.

Fort McClellan Credit Union has spent more than 70 years serving its members, supporting its communities, and building relationships that matter. That history deserves respect.

This proposed merger is not about leaving that legacy behind. It’s about carrying that legacy forward.

The people, relationships, traditions, and community connections that have defined FMCU are important, and they will continue to matter as we move forward together.

We believe the future organization will be stronger because of what both credit unions bring to it.

What This Means for You

For PenAir Credit Union Members

Nothing changes. Continue using your accounts, debit and credit cards, checks, digital banking services, and branch locations just as you do today.

For Fort McClellan Credit Union Members

For now, it’s business as usual.

As we await regulatory approval, your accounts, services, and branch relationships remain unchanged. As the merger process moves forward, we’ll provide clear information, helpful resources, and plenty of advance notice before any future changes occur.

Looking Forward

While approvals and additional steps remain before the proposed merger becomes final, we’re excited about what the future could hold.

We believe this partnership creates new opportunities for members, employees, and communities while preserving the values and local relationships that have made both organizations successful.

Most importantly, we look forward to welcoming Fort McClellan Credit Union members into the PenAir family and continuing the legacy of service that both credit unions have worked hard to build.
