PenAir Honors the Life of Former CEO, Betty Petree

Pensacola, Fla. (April 27, 2022) – PenAir Federal Credit Union (PenAir) announces the passing of former CEO, Betty Petree (June 24, 1929 – April 21, 2022).

“We are saddened at the loss of Ms. Petree. A loyal PenAir employee for 36 years, she served as a member of the Board of Directors for an additional 16,” says Delbert Lee Morgan, PenAir Federal Credit Union President & CEO. “Ms. Petree originally joined us as a Clerk in 1956. Her upward trajectory within the credit union is a testament to her character and love for PenAir.”

Petree’s leadership would receive many accolades during her time with PenAir. Most notably, she was recognized as Boss of the Year courtesy of Credit Women International (1979), Professional of the Year from National Association of Federal Credit Union (1992), and Volunteer of the Year by National Association of Federal Credit Union (2004). Petree would also be inducted into the Defense Credit Unions Councils Hall of Honor (2007) before retiring from the PenAir Board of Directors as Director Emeritus in 2015.
