PenAir Credit Union Celebrates Mid-Year Communerosity® Giving with $24,000 in Donations to Local Nonprofits

July 18, 2025

Pensacola, Florida (July 18, 2025) – PenAir Credit Union (PenAir) proudly continued its tradition of giving back through its employee-driven Communerosity® program with a series of check presentations held throughout the first half of 2025. Four local nonprofits—Rally Foundation, FavorHouse of Northwest Florida, Inc., Freedom to Go, and Escambia Search and Rescue, Inc.—each received a $6,000 donation in recognition of their vital work in the community.

PenAir’s Communerosity Employee Fundraising Program invites employees to nominate nonprofits they are passionate about to receive a donation. Finalists are then selected through a company-wide vote, ensuring that the organizations chosen reflect PenAir’s values and priorities. This process empowers employees to directly shape the credit union’s charitable giving and deepen their connection to the causes they care about.

“Communerosity is more than a program. It reflects who we are,” said Ashley Kent, Chair of the Communerosity Committee and Card Services Manager at PenAir. “It’s inspiring to see our team come together to support causes that matter deeply to them. These check presentations are a celebration of generosity, community, and the belief that small acts of kindness can create lasting impact.”

PenAir’s Employee Fundraising Program is named after one of the credit union’s most important guiding principles, Communerosity, where community and generosity fuse together into something lasting, and provides staff with a unified way to give back to the local community. Since its start in 2013, this program has been a beacon of generosity, with PenAir and its employees contributing approximately $510,000 to support local nonprofits. In 2024, PenAir provided a total of $48,000 to eight nonprofits. In addition to financial support, PenAir employees volunteer their time and talents to further the missions of these organizations.
