Student Financial Fitness

Not just for adults.

A financially sound community starts with YOUTH

PenAir has been a proud community partner since 1936. Every day we choose to continue that legacy and give back the students at our local high schools, colleges and universities.

NEXT Student Success

We have been a proud supporter of the schools in our community for many years and look forward to creating an even stronger relationship with Next – Student Success. This new program allows us to offer financial education through the Biz Kid$ program, boot camps, career readiness through mentors and much more. A team of PenAir Credit Union educators will be in classrooms once a month to teach on different financial topics.

Biz Kid$™ is a national financial education initiative based on an Emmy Award-winning public television series about students, money and business. Using a clever blend of entertainment and education, each Biz Kid$ episode shows students how to make and manage money by introducing concepts of financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Biz Kid$ is available in most local middle and high schools in Baldwin, Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

Mad City Money – Student Success

Students will be able to experience real life situations in the future. This 2½ hour simulation appeals to students and gives them a taste of the real world – complete with occupation, salary, spouse, student loan debt, credit card debt and medical insurance payments. Students get an instant family and them move about the stations to purchase housing, transportation, food, clothing, household necessities, day care and other needs.

Boot Camps and Seminars for Student Success

Financial boot camps are a great teaching tool for students to see real-life examples of everyday situations they will find themselves in once they join the real world. We go through financial topics such as creating a budget and saving for your future. We also touch on career readiness topics like perfecting your resume and how to prepare for the first day of a new job. Our boot camps can also be interactive involving a panel of experts to answer questions directly from the students. This offers a great opportunity to get professional advice straight from the source.
